Common Questions

Good answers to the right questions.

Compounding is regulated, legal and FDA-acknowledged. Here's what patients ask us most — and the honest answers.

Ask Your Own Question
What is compounding?
Pharmacy compounding is the art and science of creating personalized medications. We combine, mix or alter ingredients to fit the unique needs of a single patient — something a mass-manufactured medication can rarely do.
How does compounding benefit me?
Custom dosing, allergen-free formulations, easier-to-take dosage forms (creams, lozenges, liquids), combining multiple medications into one, and re-creating discontinued medications.
Can my child or elderly parent take compounded medication?
Yes. We specialize in pediatric and geriatric formulations — flavored liquids, dissolvable lozenges and lower-dose forms make adherence dramatically easier.
What kinds of prescriptions can be compounded?
From dermatology and ophthalmology to hormone replacement, pain management, pediatrics, dentistry, veterinary, sports medicine and many more. If you're unsure, call us — we'll tell you in two minutes.
Is compounding legal? Is it safe?
Yes. The FDA has confirmed that compounded prescriptions are both ethical and legal when prescribed by a licensed practitioner for a specific patient and compounded by a licensed pharmacy. Compounding is regulated by state boards of pharmacy.
Will my insurance cover compounded medications?
Coverage varies by plan. Some plans cover compounds at the counter, others require claim submission. We handle the paperwork and find every available discount, coupon and rebate.
Is compounding expensive?
Cost depends on ingredients, equipment and preparation time. Our compounded medications start at $39, and many patients find they pay less than the brand-name alternative.
Does my doctor know about compounding?
Most do — but if yours is unfamiliar, we're happy to talk with them directly. Many physicians discover entirely new options for difficult cases through a compounding pharmacy.
FDA Acknowledged
